OAS and multi-day item

Post by orchidpop »

I have a calendar event in Outlook that goes for many days. OAS is having trouble with this. It sync perfectly, then a few syncs later it shifts it off a week, and now it is gone completely. This is frustrating, of course, as this calendar event is very important.

How can I help? Do you need me to PM a log file?

Could you please specify details of such an event? Will recreate one on our side and try to test synchronization then. Thanks!

Hi. I made an entry from 6/9/2016 at 10am to 6/14/2016 at 9pm.

Please also mention whether you made any changes to the event in between the synchronizations. Also did you use a one-way or a two-way sync option?

No changes to the event between the syncs, and it is a one way from Outlook to Android.

Please do the following:
1. Create a new test multi-day event
2. Synchronize
3. Forward us the latest log file (accessible by clicking on Tools->Last log)
Thanks!

One other thing that may or may not be important is that I use the Google Calendar app.

Thanks! BTW, I had deleted another event that happened to occur during the timeframe of the multiday event after multiple syncs with the multiday one, and the multiday one went away right after that. Not sure I did this when I first wrote this thread as well.

According to the log file, the event is saved into the None calendar with ID=-1. Seems this is an error code. Will you be able to delete the existing None calendar on Android, then create a new one and then try to sync again? Thanks!

I have one calendar on Google: a "Me" one. I just deleted it and let it recreate and resynced. The items came back. But I have "sync deletes" set in OAS, and they deleted every item the next sync. So something is weird; perhaps with Marshmallow or LG G5 as I didn't have this problem with my HTC One mini running KitKat. In the meantime, I turned off the "sync deletes" and we'll see if that keeps the items on the Google Calendar.

Nope, the events were there but now they are gone. Maybe this is something wrong at Google? I have no idea how to solve this, but it's frustrating that I don't have access to my calendar items on my phone.

I'd recommend you to choose Outlook-Android Sync calendar account in the app settings and see if that solves the issue. If you synchronize your Google Calendar with some other app or service, that might theoretically interfere normal synchronization/operation.

I changed to the OAS calendar, and so far, no events have disappeared.
