contacts getting deleted on synchronisation

I added contacts to my laptop while travelling, synchronised with desktop on return. The contacts on laptop disappeared into an EZOS file under deleted items. Originals removed from contacts folder. I understand that only 'older versions' go to deleted items when there are duplicates. Why did these simply get deleted? Thanks

Many thanks. I would be very grateful if yu would tell me where to look for log file. On EZOutlook presumably? Would the log be on the laptop if the laptop doesn't have the ez programme?

Log files can be found at the following location: C:\Documents and Settings\User_name\Application Data\EZOutlookSync Pro
Only on a computer with EZOS installed. Thanks.
