sync creates a file doubled in size

Post by ken »

Hi,

I'm a new user of ezoutlooksync portable. I keep the backup on a USB drive and sync it from my work computer, take it home, then sync it at home off the usb drive, back and forth as required.

I'm not sure why this is happening, but often I'll do a sync and find that the pst file on the computer has doubled in size (the usb version is 485Kb, computer version has gone to 884Mb).

I've tried copying the backup from the USB and overwriting the computer's hard drive version and renaming it - this will usually work initially, but within a few syncs it will do it again. Also, syncing takes way longer when this occurs - often taking much more time than it would to simply copy the pst file over to the usb drive in the first place.

As this scenario is rather pointless, I need a solution. Any suggestions why this is occurring?

It all depends on how Outlook handles data. You might want to compact your Outlook files time to time. Also, moving some data into Archive folders would help.
