Contact Sync

I have two system - one with office 2007 one with ofice 2003. I just want to sync the Outlook contacts. When I tell it to sync it appears to be working properly but the contacts are not synching. I put a test contact in one and told it to sync and it never showed up on the other file. Any thoughts?

What's the program version and edition?
Could you please try to repeat the procedure but with any other item - a task, for example. Will another item get transferred ok? Thanks.
