Hello,

seems like EZOS can't access the file. Please really make sure that you have full/read permissions to this Outlook file. Here is the movie demonstrating this:

I tried that and take off the read-only checkmark on the folder and it reverts back to read-only.

is there some outher way to take the checkmark off of the folder?

that was me above...

plus, I'm able to rename the file outlook to outlook1...

so, I have premissions.....but, the folder still won't remove the checkmark...

I read somewhere that microsoft doesn't look at the folder premisssions...that's only for making 'all' the files in the folder not 'read-only'

yes, I'm able to do that...

I copied outlook.pst to another folder on the pc that connected wirelessly..

I also copied it to the main pc over the wireless netrwork...

but, I'm still getting that message that file access is denied when I try an sync between the 2 outlooks...

note:

I'm using win xp home edition on both pc's connected using the netgear rangemax router and pci adapter.

ok....I downloaded the pro version on the wirelessly connected pc and I'm able to sync.....

I'm still unable to sync from the main pc...

so, I'm still confused.

One more guess- make sure that the PST file is not opened in Outlook, which might lock it.

Error messages with EZOutlook Sync Pro

Post by Gary »

Downloaded and evaluating it for use. I received an error message on my second sync (without rebooting my PC). I'm using Outlook 2003. The error said that the target pst folder was in use even though outlook was closed. When I looked at the task manager in XP, I found that Outlook was still running in the background. Once I closed it, EZoutlook sync was able to access the pst file again.

Will this always happen, ie: Will I always have to close outlook through the task manager or reboot after a sync?

usually, we would expect Outlook.exe to close upon exiting Outlook. But sometimes Outlook plugins or destop search engines have a bad habit of keeping Outlook.exe running. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do...
